Alexandra Ilchuk

Alexandra is an associate at Advotax Law, specializing primarily in tax controversy and litigation.

She has represented a wide range of clients, including owner-managed businesses, individuals, and corporations, in matters involving audits and appeals at the CRA level, as well as appeals before the Tax Court of Canada. Alexandra has successfully resolved tax controversies involving GST/HST, shareholder and employee benefits, real estate issues, and net worth audits.

With a deep understanding of corporate tax, compliance, and procedural tax rules, she provides strategic advice to help clients minimize risk, optimize tax outcomes, and resolve disputes effectively.

 

Alexandra earned her Professional Master of Laws in Canadian Common Law from Osgoode Hall Law School. She also holds both a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws from MGIMO University’s Faculty of International Law in Moscow, Russia, where she focused on international corporate taxation and tax disputes. She is currently pursuing a Master of Laws in Tax Law at Osgoode Hall Law School.

Before joining Advotax Law, Alexandra worked at a global accounting firm in Russia, advising multinational corporations and high-net-worth individuals on international tax matters. She also gained experience as a Summer Associate at a global law firm in Paris, France.

Alexandra is an active member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, Ontario Bar Association, and the Advocates’ Society. She contributes to the tax law community through presentations and publications, sharing insights on evolving tax issues.

Fluent in English, French, and Russian, Alexandra is well-positioned to assist a diverse range of clients. She is dedicated to delivering pragmatic, results-oriented solutions in tax law, ensuring her clients receive clear guidance and effective advocacy.
