Directors' Liability

Corporate directors are not personally liable for the corporation's income tax, but they may be personally liable for the corporation’s failure to remit to the CRA payroll withholdings and GST/HST.

The tax rules that impose personal liability on directors are harsh, but a number of defences are available. At Advotax Law, we help corporate directors dispute their assessments.
