Voluntary Disclosure Program
Voluntary Disclosure Program (VDP) is a CRA program that provides taxpayers a chance to correct prior years' tax filings and pay overdue taxes without facing harsh penalties and/or criminal prosecution. The Canadian VDP is known as more forgiving compared to similar programs in the United States and in the European Union.
At Advotax Law, we work closely with accountants to help clients who wish to correct their prior tax mistakes. Our role is to ensure that our clients are protected throughout the disclosure process.
We also help clients who previously made a VDP application to the CRA but their application was denied. We challenge the CRA's decision by bringing a judicial review application to the Federal Court.
